After failing five previous times, the Selective Service System is again asking the California state legislature to pass a bill linking Selective Service registration to California drivers' licenses.

Proposed by Assemblymember Rocky Chávez (R-Oceanside), Assembly Bill 2201 seeks to use DMV records to automatically register males with Selective Service when they apply for a license or license renewal. The bill is scheduled for a hearing in the Assembly Committee on Transportation on APRIL 21, 2014.

Californians should contact the Transportation Committee BEFORE 4/21. Fax if possible:

Assembly Transportation Committee
1020 N Street, Room 112, Sacramento, CA 95814
