Washington, DC – Nevada Senator Harry Reid issued the following statement today after House Democrats introduced a Constitutional amendment in the House of Representatives to get dark money out of our nation’s politics:

“This amendment is about restoring the Constitutional principle of one American, one vote.  It’s hard to fathom why Republicans in Congress continue to defend the status quo. The flood of dark money into our political system is a grave threat to our democracy. I stand with House Democrats, and the American people, in rejecting the notion that money should give the Koch brothers, corporations or special interest groups a greater voice in government than American voters.”
